Overview
Thermy is an advanced AI chatbot designed specifically for the UK energy market, providing personalized energy efficiency advice to homeowners and tenants.
Challenge: The UK energy sector faces a significant challenge—80% of heating systems are inefficient, and 20% of carbon emissions come from homes. Homeowners struggle to navigate complex energy efficiency improvements, government grants, and cost-benefit analyses.
Solution: I developed Thermy as an embedded GenAI application using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture. The system integrates with UK government databases (EPC Data for England & Wales, Scotland) and provides intelligent recommendations based on property-specific data.
Technical Implementation:
- Built RAG pipeline using LLMs for context-aware responses
- Integrated multiple UK government APIs for real-time EPC data
- Implemented document processing for thermal imaging reports
- Developed cost-benefit analysis engine
- Created conversational interface with markdown rendering
Impact: Thermy serves UK homeowners through ThermaFY's platform, helping them make informed decisions about energy improvements, access government grants, and reduce their carbon footprint. The system has processed hundreds of queries and contributed to ThermaFY's B-Corp mission.
